Condo Help In Grand Cayman Please
 

My wife and I want to spend 7-10 days at Grand Cayman in late August. We know the weather is of concern, but we will take our chances. The condo rates for the low seasonare very good.

From those of you who have visited, please comment on the list of condo's below on which you think is the best all around. We are interested in nicely decorated, roomy, good snorkeling and close to shops, dining etc...

-Aqua Bay
-Plantana
-Victoria House
-Beachcomber
-Villas Of Galleon (Ritz Construction?)

I haven't been yet, but I am booked at Villas of the Galleon for my honeymoon. I have been told the beach is on the best stretch of 7MB, condos are big ans well decorated, location is great...walikng distance to most things. And there is good snorkeling ust to the north of the condos.

Haven't stayed in the condos, but walked the beach. I recall that beach in front of Aqua Bay, Plantana and Villas of Galleon very nice. I recall that Villas was closer to Westin (and the Ritz construction) so a bit more people in that area of beach than Plantana and Aqua Bay which are a bit more north. Can't comment on the others. There is an off-shore reef which is nice for snorkeling right off the beach near Plantana (which is by the Governor's house).

Aqua Bay is on northern end of 7MB, less crowds and very nice beach. Plantana is in more of a central location of 7MB, great beach and closer to restaurants etc. You would be happy with either one!

We have stayed here three times, heading back in two weeks. Very nice condos next door to Hyatt...great beach. Look at www.caribline.com for more info that message board regarding Lacovia (once on the website, go to "forum" and then "Cayman Islands")

We just stayed at Aqua Bay Club and I fell in love with it. The condos are beautifully furnished and have beautiful views. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Email me if you need further info.

I can only comment on Villas of the Galleon - it is a nice property, but you need to be sure that you don't have a unit next to the Ritz construction - it goes on day and night 7 days a week. I would go for Plantana instead - it is just on the other side of the Westin - beach is beautiful and very uncrowded
