If you are looking for a very beautiful, lush island - try St. Lucia. Check out this website: www.laderaresort.com. It is situated hillside and looks to views of the pitons - romantic rooms, 3 walls open to views, plunge pools.

Diane, the picture of the Ladera Resort room with the open wall reminds me of the scene out the windows of some of the rooms at the Princeville Resort in Princeville, Kauai. That certainly is breathtaking.

How does the Ladera Resort compare with the Jalousie Hilton?
If Lori can get to St. Lucia easily that looks really nice for 5 nights. Unfortunately some of these islands, depending where you are coming from, have you changing planes 2 or 3 times to get there.
Also, my advise to Lori is go to www.travelzoo.com or www.smartliving.com and sign up for weekly emails on airfare and hotel sales. Right now US Airways and AA are having a sale to Sint Maarten from the some of the East Coast cities in the $340 range. That's a savings of almost 50% of what they were quoting just 2 weeks ago. With a deal like that, you have 3 choices, stay in St. Martin, the French or the Dutch side, take the ferry to Anguilla (20 min.) or go over to St. Barts....just a thought.
I think the airline is where she should start, then find a resort once she as the airline nailed down. All these island have at least one exclusive resort that will be happy to take your money.
One thing though, St. Lucia has the reputation as a honeymoon destination so you probably won't find a lot of screaming kids...famous last words, lol.
One other comment, Lori, Bermuda probably won't be that warm in April, 70 degree area. That island is best in June, July and August. Check the current weather on Yahoo.
Let us know if we can be of any further help.

Regarding what I mentioned about going to Sint Maarten (SXM), just noticed this message that would give you an idea of the possibilities:

Message: Forgot to say, yes, rent a car; we rent through Budget, it's 2 minutes from the airport. We just come through immigration, hop on their van and they have the vehicle ready for us. Driving is easy as there is basically one main road around the island. You can drive around and stop at various beaches. You can go to Pic Paradise and the French fort in Marigot. We have taken the boat over to St.Barths and we have also gone by airplane from Grand Case to Gustavia. Now there's a ride to talk about; the plane flies up, straightens out and 10 mins later you're over the harbour at Gustavia. Then it angles up over a hill (with a cross on top)and tilts down sharply onto the runway. The goats scatter and you can see people on St Jean's beach at the end of the runway. The price from Grand Case included flight and a car. St.Barth's is a real jewel of an island, so pristine. Shopping is very high-end but it's fun to look and the beaches are gorgeous.
