Compass Point
Just returned from our 3rd stay here, any questions?
|
Did you stick around the resort or did you venture out. How did you get around? Also, was there any good snorkelling nearby?
|
I understand they have a small beach, how is it? Are there other beaches near by?
|
We traveled in to Cable Beach one day and ate at Travelers Rest. down the road. I would never eat at that restaurant again and only went to Cable Beach because my oldest son wanted to try his luck at the casino.
I LOVE to just hang out at Compass Point where the only stress involves deciding what kind of drink do I have next!
There is VERY good snorkeling at a reef about 100 yards from shore. It is marked by a buoy. One day when we were out there last week we encountered 3-4 dolphins - great experience!
Yes, the beach is small but you can easily access Love Beach right next door. Compass Point's beach is excellent for swimming and my daughter has always enjoyed building sand castles on it.

Rich,

We are planning on staying there in December - any suggestions on rooms/accomodations? Also, are there chairs on the beach or only by the pool. Thanks
|
Lou:
There aren't any chairs on the beach, and I can tell you we are a family of beach lovers, yet at this place we enjoy sitting on the patio near the pool or the 'pier'. It is a small beach, great for swimming and my daughter enjoyed making sand castles but not so much for lounging.
Without knowing how many are in your party I can't recommned specific rooms except to say avoid the "cabanas" and go for a beach front unit such as "The Reefs".
Also, make friends with James because he will make your stay most enjoyable!
Have fun/Rich

Is this a place you would recommend for a wedding - guest list of about 40 people? Niece is looking this place now for her July 4th 2002 wedding weekend - your thoughts? How was the weather when you were there? Thank you
|
To esaluga:
Yes I would HIGHLY recommend Compass Point for a wedding. As a matter of fact during our first visit there 3 years ago we saw a wedding, the couple exchanged vows in the "hut" at the end of the pier. It was beautiful! Also during that visit we befriended a family from Oklahoma who had a daughter married there.
The weather will be hot in July, but I live in Connecticut and can assure you it is NO hotter there than here, especially seeing you always have the ocean breezes.
Feel free to email me for additional info. or contact Serena Williams directly at Compass Point.
Good luck!

We had our wedding reception at Compass Point In May and it was wonderful. We were married in a church nearby and had the dinner etc at Compass Point. We had exactly 40 people at the wedding...our guests loved the place...it is perfect for a small group. Very friendly staff and excellent food and drinks.
