Comfort Suites in Provo

Is Comfort Suites in Provo close to the beach? What hotels are within walking distance of restaurants and stores? I think we consider convenience a little higher than location but then a nice hotel with a pretty view is hard to beat. Your opinions please.

Comfort Suites is across the street from the most beautiful part of the 7 mile beach. It has it's own section on the beach itself with umbrellas and beach chairs. It is nestled between The Club Med, The 5 star Grace Bay Club(fabulous restaurant) and The Allegro Resort (Has a small casino if that is important to you). Everything is in close proximity. Some great restaurants nearby. Don't know about the hotel's amenities other than location. There is no snorkling right off the beach since the beach there is powder sand and shallow for some distance. About 1+ miles down the beach is a great snorkling park. We had stayed at the Allegro in November of '00.

We stayed at the Sands when we went last year, but we saw the Comfort Suites quite a few times during our stay and were very impressed with the location and the property.

As the other poster said, it's in a great location and right across the street from the best stretch of beach.

On an island that is pretty pricey, I think the Comfort Suites looks like an excellent value for the quality of the accommodations.

Comfort Inn and Suites is located in the Ports of Call Shopping Plaza. It is a very nice property. To get to the beach you have to walk across the street and there is a path next to Allegro. It is probably about a 200-300 yard walk. If you are on a budget and don't really mind not having a beach/ocean view it is a very nice place to stay. There are four restaurants in the immediate vicinity--Barefoot Cafe, Calico Jacks, Lattitudes and Caicos Cafe. A little further away but still walkable are Bella Luna, Danny Bouys and Cuba Bella. All of these are relatively inexpensive restaurants. If you decide to splurge Anacona at Grace Bay Club is walkable and a lovely restaurant but expensive. You might want to look at Ocean Club Westwhich is beachside between Allegro and Grace Bay Club. You can walk to all of the above places from OCWest and they have a beach bar/restaurant and also shuttle service to Gecko Grill at Ocean Club. At OCWest you will get convenience plus a view. They also have suites with kitchens so you can save some money by eating breakfast and some lunches and dinners in.

My wife and I stayed at the CS in February 2002. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would not hesitate to go back. The walk to the beach was no big thing. Grace Bay is absolutely beautiful. We also did the 'pirate cave' tour as well as an outing to Middle Caicos. Both tours we enjoyed. The restaurants at the Port of Call were good. Rib night (Thursday?) at Lattitudes should not be missed if you are so inclined. While dinner at Grace's Cottage was expensive it was worth it. Hemmingways was also good. Have a good time.
