Clueless about Cuba
My husband & I are planning a trip in Feb./04 to Cuba, and are planning to stay at Club Amigo Veradero. I was hoping someone has stayed there b4,and could tell me about the place, also what the beach is like as well as some good tours to go on.I loved the beach at Punta Cana, & was wondering if Veradero is comparable. Thanks for any info you can give me .

I don't know what tour supplier you are traveling with but here is Conquest Vacations pic and description about the 4 star Club Amigo Varadero.
Also the Trip Advisor site has a couple of reviews posted: http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserR...each_Cuba.html It certainly looks like and sounds like a good choice. Enjoy!! The Varadero beachefronts are as beautiful but not as deep as the Punta Cana beachfront. At high tide, there is just a couple of feet of beachfront left at some resorts(I refer to Cayo Guillermo in particular). As far as side trips, there are day trips offered to Havana, to local towns, to the offshore reef for snorkeling, to nearby clubs, etc. |
Oops, I forgot to add the Conquest link

Hola Hurtin_Albertan If you are headed Havana way, check out my website for photos and info on lots of the "must see" places. http://photopilot.tripod.com note there is NO www. in the URL. Steve |
Hi again hurtin_albertan. I have just booked the Palma Real leaving this Sunday afternoon from Toronto. I got a fantastic last minute selloff this weekend for $388 + tx All Inclusive and I see tonight, it is $4.00 cheaper, lol. We plan to do a lot of walking the beach and if I spot the Amigo Varadero, I'll tell you about it when I get back on Nov 2nd.

To Trillium, I hope you are aware that the Palma Real is not right on the beach. It is a short walk. I did like this hotel though. It was cute and right in the town of Varadero.
Also Cayo Guillermo is quite a ways away from Varadero, and i didn't notice the same tide problem in Varadero as I did in Cayo Guillermo. |
