Club Med Punta Cana

If you have any questions regarding the airport, resort or whatever, please ask away. It was an absolutely first class vacation. Not a complaint about anything!!! (Well, maybe the process we went through to get the tourist card upon arrival in Punta Cana)

thinking of going with 2 families in July 2002, kids 5-10. How is the water skiing- any scuba? waterslides? adult activities? is it tropical club med with sparse accomodations or more upscale? is it the same food everyday?

The Club Med is a beautiful tropical resort. The sea is like a big swimming pool (no waves) and the sand is fine and light pink. I can e-mail some pictures if you like. The accomodations were fine -- not luxurious. Each room had a sitting room with a pocket door that consisted of a satilite TV and two twin beds. Great place for the kids. The closet was as big as a bedroom.

As for the activites, there were no mototized ones. But we snorkled, kayaked, sailed, windsurfed. There was a boat from the next resort that would come 2 times a time and collect people for scuba. There was TONS to do or nothing at all. And the kids club was first rate!!!

Did you feel that the club was crowded since it accomadates up to 2000 people? We are considering taking our kids next summer and really like the club med atmosphere.

Wanda: 2000 people? Where did you get that number? There are no Club Med villages that big--that's what makes them so nice.

I would not go to Club Med in Punta Cana -while it is a good company , the buildings in that location are just too old and a bit run down, one of the first built in Punta Cana. There are many other much nicer resorts in Punta Cana now...

When we were there this spring, we were told that they were at 65% occupancy. We absolutely did not feel the "crowds". It is a well run resort.

RE: Moi,

All the suite have been renovated and are in perfect condition.

We are looking at club med punta cana, because of the kids club. Does anyone know of another hotel/resort in Punta Cana that has exceptional kids activities? Our daughter is 5yrs old.

Thanks,
Kelly
