Cloudy Water at Jolly Harbor

I read somewhere that the water at Jolly Beach Club and Jolly Harbor was not CLEAR. We made that mistake once at the Paradisus Riviera in Mexico....and swore I would never to go another resort that didn't have crystal blue water. Has anyone been to this resort and can advise?

I'm assuming you're talking about Antigua. My wife and I will be at Jolly Beach Vacations (timeshare), which is on the same property as Jolly Harbour. From all I read, it's true the water is cloudy, but doesn't take away from the beautiful shades of blue to the eye. I was told the water is placid, but not recommended for snorkeling b/c of the cloudiness. Everytime someone talks about Jolly Beach, the first thing they mention, is the fantastic colors of the water and the white sand beach.I'll be leaving in 20 days and I can't wait!!!
White sand beach, 85 degrees and ice-cold beer;;who cares about cloudy water?

Yes, I did mean Antigua. We are actually staying at the Jolly Harbor Timeshare also. I hope that we have a/c and a tv, as I am going with my teens. I hope you post a trip report. I would love to know things, like.....is it worth it to buy a day pass at Jolly Beach (if you elect to do that), how far of a walk is it, what is the "new" casino like. etc., etc. Have a wonderful time!

EJC is exactly right. The water is only cloudy if you're underwater and trying to see through it. From the shore or from your balcony it will look beautiful and blue, in fact many shades of blue, contrasting nicely with the nearly-white sand beach.
