JC,
Might want to re-think BVI's if one of your main interests is a clothing optional atmosphere.
As another poster recently cited, it is illegal in the BVI's and considered rude by the residents (and many of the other tourists).
Why don't you look at one of the French islands - Martinique, St. Barts - if that is an important part of your trip. (St. Martin is another option - they have a well known nude/topless beach called Orient.)

ok, I get the idea that the Brits are pretty straight laced regarding their beach experiences. A "bonus" to me means that my wife and I would enjoy whatever the island can offer us...hiking, history, geography, entertainment, food, etc. and that a co beach would just be another "amenity". By the way, we have been to St. Martin, Guadeloupe and St.Barths and really enjoyed all of them in different ways.

Hi JC -

Skinny dippin, buck-nekid sunnin and nude frolicing can be achieved in the BVI.

There are many private, hill-side villas that offer seclusion, including pools.

A private charter offers the same. Once out on the water, anything goes.

Finally, there are little secluded areas of some beaches where a discrete sunbather could relax.

By all means, respect the local culture and keep it private, private, private.

Dave

Hi JC...

Dave is right..

We were there in BVI for our Honeymoon and were in Virgin Gorda and stayed in Nail Bay Resort..they have a beach (Mountain Trunk) which is fairly private most of the time coz the road to the resort and beach is unpaved. That helps to keep it secluded..you can go for a day trip to Norman Island and checkout a floating restaurant (willy T)where you can fun and can go for a skinny dipping..

Nice place to stay...

Matt

Hi jc-

I've only stayed on Tortola and can certainly recommend it. Best of them all as far as options are concerned (more beaches, bars, restaurants, Inns, villas, etc) with the "downside" being more activity in general.

The others are great, too.

You've asked the $64,000 question. I suggest sifting through the Trip Report archive and past posts at traveltalkonline.com for some varied and excellent data.

Dave
