Christmas Family Trip
 

We are looking at taking a trip around Dec. 16th for a week and want to go somewhere warm. Family includes:

4 adults
2 seniors
2 teenagers (13 adn 15).

WE will be leaving from Dallas/Ft. worth. I am trying to find the cheapest flights somewhere. I might have options for condo's etc, or I might end up going for a package deal.

Does anyone have suggestions? Especially from DFW area/

I think there are direct flights from DFW to San Juan which is a good jumping off spot to other islands & you should have good connections to the Mexican Caribbean. What sort of place are you interested in?

HOnestly one of the reasons this is difficult to choose is we don't have a specific place in mind....so we are looking for something that is the least expensive.

As far as what to do we would want snorkeling, maybe scuba (it will be the firs time), shopping for the girls who dont' wnat to snorkel. Excursion type stuff on the island etc. NOT party people at all. More scenary, beach, pool, excursion - island tours etc, and shopping. Thanks.

Unfortunately it's difficult to make specific recommendation since your request is very vague.

If you are trying to go somewhere with "the cheapest flights" try checking the travel (Travelocity, Expedia, Orbitz) and the airlines (since you are flying from DFW check AA.com) websites for fares to islands you can reach non-stop from DFW as those will be the least expensive. This will pretty much limit you to the larger islands since getting a connecting flight to a smaller island will usually add considerably to the cost.

Check out destinations such as Puerto Rico, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, Cancun, Cozemel.

Cancun / Cozumel will work best for all.
