Cheap eats in Grand Cayman
 

We are lucky enough to be going to Grand Cayman for the second time at the end of this month. Inexpensive meals were a challenge, so I am asking for recommendations in case we missed any obvious choices. We are staying near 7 Mile Beach. Thank you!

Deli foods at Fosters are apossibility. There are always fast food places but inexpensive meals are hard come by on Cayman.

Chicken Chicken for sure
Sunshine Suites has a restaurant in back by their pool that is very good
For breakfast go to EATS across the street from the Westin
also honorable mention for the lunch BBQ at Grand Cayman Beach Suites

if you want a nice night out, LUCA is the best

We were just in Grand Cayman in November where we stayed at the Grand Cayman Beach Suites. We loved the location as so many restaurants were within walking distance. I agree with FrankS on restaurants. Chicken Chicken was good and cheap. Very, very casual. We didn't eat at EATS this trip but we have in the past and it is indeed affordable and pretty good, especially for breakfast or lunch. We ate at the Italian restaurant, Ragazzi, just down from the Beach Suites. It was good and not expensive. The Lone Star is also just down the street from Beach Suites. It's kind of a sports bar but the hamburgers were excellent.

We hadn't been to Grand Cayman in quite a few years and although it's not a cheap destination by any stretch we weren't as shocked by the prices on this trip as we were on the first trip. We were pleasantly surprised and my husband loved the fact that men don't need to wear long pants except at a couple of very high end restaurants.

Cimboco across from the Marriott has a 5 for $5 weekday breakfast special.

Just in case you need a cool drink ... not cheap, but I had a delicious Rum Punch at the Cracked Conch by the Turtle Farm.

Other relatively inexpensive places to consider are Heritage Kitchen and Alfrescos just north of Seven Mile Beach in West Bay. Chef John has excellent barbecue at the public beach on Friday and Saturday only. Al La Kabob has of course, kabobs and Duke's restaurant had barbecue, both are is in theSeven Mile Beach area. In Georgetown, Brasserie Market,has excellent sandwiches, this is where many of the business people eat lunch. They are owned by the same people who own Brasserie restaurant which is the one of the best restaurants on the island. Welly's Cool spot is place where real Caymanians eat. It has a local vibe which some tourists don't like. Singh's Roti Shop has Trinidadian Rotis. If you are going near Bodden Town, Rankin's Jerk Pit is another consideration.

Thank you for the suggestions, we just returned yesterday from GCM and tried some of them plus a couple of our own (Lighthouse, Michael's Genuine F&B, not cheap but very good).
Chicken Chicken was very good esp the Jamaican Jerk Chicken, Alfrescos, Lone Star and Cracked Conch (although that is not cheap eats).
