cell phones in Aruba
 

Going to Aruba on the 28th, not sure how this works, do we buy a pre-paid phone to use while there or bring our own phone and get some kind of calling card with a code, which is the better choice? If the pre-paid is the way to go, where are they available and average cost? Same question for a card, thanx!

Well no one answered my post before we left but now we are back and I have an answer to my question. I called my carrier before we left and added the international plan to my cell phone as the rates were very reasonable for both calls and texting.

what is the rate?

1.99 for calls and .50 for outgoing texts and only .05 for incoming texts, not bad.

Not bad for the occasional very quick call. Anything more, it will add up quickly.
