Cayman Restaurants

We are leaving in a week for Grand Cayman. We will have a car, and it is just my husband and I going. We don't mind paying for great resturants. Could we get some updates on the most memorable restuarants for dinner for great food and atmosphere. Thanks!

My favorite is Casanova - but be sure you call ahead for reservations.

Reef Grill.. We ate dinner there twice on a week vacation... Also, the restaurant at the Hyatt, right outside on the beach.. Great atmosphere and awesome food, forgot the name though...

I think Casanovas is closed for relocation to another spot...nice atmosphere, but food is homey italian fare, not spectacular.

The Hyatt beachfront restaurant is Hemingways.

My own top restaurants for combination of food and atmosphere :
- Calypso Grill
- Ristorante Papagallo

Everyone has their own list :)

Casanova's was our favorite, but I too heard it was closed because of the harbour area being re-done. Portofino's on the east end is good and has just as many locals as visitors. The Lone Star is a texas style bar and also has a mix of locals and visitors. Good drinks! The Lobster Pot is on the sea. The Sunday morning brunch at Ferdinand's in the Westin is worthy of awards, but be prepared to wait a half hour or so for the staff to straggle in.

Reef Grill, Mezza and Joe's Downtown which is new. All very good.
