Cayman Kai- thinking about staying there- Anybody been there?

I have been considering many places in G.C.
The northren end of seven mile beach has been the leader- I am now considering place located in The cayman Kai section of the Island(north shore)- Curious to speak with anyone who has stayed there - or atleast visited the area.. thanks alot..

I was there years ago. It is beautiful and the snorkeling is great. My parents lived in Cayman for two years and went to Cayman Kai for the day often. They found:
There are times when oil off the tankers washes up on shore - watch out for this.
The lagoon area can be quite smelly at times.
Hope this helps.

As Jackie said, the area is peaceful and beautiful but far (30 min) from the action at seven mile beach. I believe a ferry operates now which should shorten the time to Georgetown area. Unless you just want to "sit", I would think a car rental would be needed. Brach club and diving available.
