Cayman Islands in May

My husband and I are planning on vacationing in the Cayman Islands this May. I have read that May begins the rainy season. Just how rainy is it in May? Should we consider changing our vacation plans? Thanks for any help.

I have been on the island 4-5 times in May and had delightful weather. You may get a shower once in a while, but, in my experience, not a problem.

Have been to the Caymans the end of May first of June two seperate times. We had rain for both of those trips. Really down pours -. Have since gone there in February instead - weather perfect. Good luck!

There is a "high" season and "low" season for a reason. You simply pay higher prices for better weather odds. We have been to GC in both March & May. We had 3 or 4 days of rain/clouds out of 10 days in May. March was 10 solid sunny days. Keep in mind that I have talked with others that have had bad weather stretches in the middle of the high season (Feb) so there'e never any guarantees. Your chances are always in your favor of having mostly excellent weather, even during the height of hurricane season. I wouldn't get too freaked out by the weather.
