Cayman Islands Honeymoon
I am considering a honeymoon in the Cayman Islands in February 2000.

Where is a good place to stay?

Are there any bad things about the Cayman Islands?

Steve - looks like you needed a more mature response in lieu of the first one. So here goes - been to the Cayman and we loved it (hubby and I). For your honeymoon, I recommend you look into the Westin. The hotel is located on the best spot of beach. You can't go wrong withthis place. As far as the island itself, it can be pricey for dinner and drinks, but, on the other hand, you can always find more afforadable restaurants if you try hard enough. I may still have the list if you're interested. As for all else, it was one of the safest islands we had ever been to. Congrats!

Bad things?-only the $ tags! It is a very safe, friendly, no beach vendor island with great underwater scenery. Prices for meals, lodging, gas, etc. are very high as compared to other islands though. We just spent 2 weeks at Morritt's Tortuga Club on the East End of the island. It is about a 40 minute drive from the airport and more from 7 mile beach where most of the hotels are. We enjoyed our stay there because it had a great acivity program for evenings, its own dive program, a kitchen, and full maid service and was away from the crowds and fast food scenery of 7 mile beach. The Westin looked very nice and does get good reports if you want to stay in the heart of it all. If you get a kitchen with your room you will save big bucks on breakfast/lunch (and have the opportunity to serve each other breakfast in bed). Sunset sails are romantic experiences. E-mail me for answers to other specific questions. Congratulations.
