Cayman Airways questions
It has become next to impossible for us to plan a trip to T&C b/c of flights, so my DH, DD and I are looking to perhaps go to Grand Cayman. Flights are pretty reasonable on Cayman Airways. Can anyone here share any thoughts they have on this airline. I'm sort of nervous to fly on anything but the brand names that I know well, although I have heard of Cayman Air. I'd like to hear others' experiences though. TIA

We used to fly Cayman nearly every year from New York. It was a very good airline with excellent service. Of course this was several years ago ( Cayman no longer has nonstop service from New York), so I'm hoping somebody here can give you more recent info.

We live near Chicago and travel to Cayman several times each year. For us, flying CAL is a no-brainer. It's a great airline! It is government owned and subsidized. Very professional crews, free checked bags, actual food service, free rum punch, and, best of all, you don't have to hassle with MIA. Just wish the flew all year out of ORD.

We used them one time for our first trip to Grand Cayamn back in 2003. Great airline. No problem and less people on board. Better than hassing with AA or Continental. Too bad we can't use them all the time.

Thanks for letting me know they have a nonstop again from JFK! For a few years, it had been discontinued, and was one of the reasons we stopped going there.

They are fine. We had a delay, but that can happen on any airline.
Just make sure you have everything you need in your carry-on. The baggage conveyor broke in Miami, so our bags never made it on the plane. And with these island flights, you usually have to wait until the next day to see your things. |
