Cat to St Vincent in July...

Hello..first time back in the Grenadines in 17 years...actually even to the Caribbean. I am so excited - I can't stand it!

So we are taking a small cat, and although I know we have a great chance of weather, how bad have you seen it?

There was a lovely bed and breakfast next to the French on St. Vincent...does anyone know the name of it? We will have a few days prior to picking up the boat - any recommendations to a place to stay - doesn't have to be in St. Vincent...just not pricey...thinking maybe the Frangipani...is that still reasonable?

Thanks all for any feedback that you might be able to provide! We are going to the Cays also...

Grenadines on a cat - great choice. Frangipani still has all the character and charm that you would remember.
July weather shouldn't be too bad, but you could get some rain. Won't be as windy as other times of year either, but I have done the trip in December (too much wind), May (fabulous conditions), June (fab conditions) and August (winds a bit light but ok otherwise).
Tobago Cay, Mayreau beautiful as ever. Bequia quaint and definitely not lost it's charm.
I'm jealous! Enjoy!

If you are going at the beginning of July you are in for a treat as Vincy Mas aka Carnival will be in full swing.

Banjangirl and Vinceygirl - thank you! It is so nice to hear that the islands have not lost the charm that they once had. That was my fear when I heard that the airstrip was put into Bequia.

There was a lovely little bed and breakfast place in St. Vincent - straight accross from Young Island - next to The French restaurant...anyone know what the name is? The rooms were nice, reasonable and the food next door was divine!

We have some extra time on both ends ...not sure which islands to explore. We come into Trinidad, so there goes a night on either end.

Yes, I heard about the carnival - I have always wanted to experience that - and purely by accident it was at the same time as our trip! LOL! How exciting is that.

It has taken me 17 years to get back...I am jumping out of my skin over this - just got dive certified too -

Vincy Mas is one of the best times ever. Music and partying all day and night. The parades and costumes are beautiful. Much time and effort is put into this celebration. Sorry I can't help you with the name of the BnB. I personally stay at Tranquility on Indian Bay. Been going there since 1992. Lucille is one of the nicest people I know. The place is only basic accommodations but worth every penny. The view of Bequia and the Caribbean leaves me speechless every day I wake up and look out the window or sit on my porch with a cup of coffee or tea. Could afford to stay somewhere with amenities but choose to stay here as it's like visiting family.
Have a wonderful trip. I'll be heading down island in Sept.

I recently stayed at the Beachcombers Hotel--very reasonable and so friendly, clean and welcoming. Sunset Shores is just down the beach, more of a hotel also but both across from Young Island. Sorry cant help with the name of the B&B. Have a wonderful trip!!!!
