Carolyn Barrett Tours

Just wanted to put out some quick feelers, anyone familiar with this tour group - reputable? We are probably going to book the mayfield / pelican bar excursion with them. thanks again!

I'm sure that Tivertonhouse will respond to this...but Carolyn has a wonderful reputation on island. You have chosen wisely :-)

Marion

PS...see if you can tour further up the coast to see the Treasure Beach/Great Bay area.

hey thanks marion, just wanted to double check. I got her name from TripAdvisor. I think we will see Treasure Beach, as we are booking Mayfield/Appleton/Pelican Bar. Full day affair, but I'm sure so worth it. I just couldn't see visiting Jamaica without seeing the falls, etc.

Carolyn's HQ'ed at Horizon in Bluefields
Bay-Belmont on the South Coast this summer (see jamaicaescapes.com ,also for new pix of Pelican Bar on La Sirena). You'll prohably stop by Horizon en route to Pelican Bar from Mayfields. She and her crew of 5 or so
PPV insured/certified private driver/vans are mainstays in the tour
guide business on island. We put many
guests in her care. If you can get the lady herself, she's a real character,
immersed in the island and keenly aware
of its ways. She has a private boatman lined up just this side of Black River for the trip out to Pelican Bar, a
must-see. If you're lucky, you'll spy dolphin and stingray/bring your camera.
And crocodile if you go up the back
channels of Black River where you should stop for simple boiled crab and lime at a famed shack near the bridge
called Sister Lou's who one of our guest has already 'immortalized' on a
new CD (Morri Namaste: SISTER LOU).
If you've time, stop at Mr.and Mrs.
Chambers, a wholesale basket/rattan/straw products 'wholesale warehouse' in a small country
ranchhouse just outside Black River. If there's a basket on a long pole out
by the roadside, they're open.
