Caribe Club in Punta Cana, Allegro Jack Tar Puerto Plata, or Iberostar Costa Dorado in Puerto Plata
My husband and I have narrowed our search down to the Iberostar Costa Dorada Puerto Plata, the Caribe Club in Punta Cana and the Allegro Jack Tar Puerto Plata. We can't decide on which resort to go to!
We are travelling the last week in February. Does anyone have any suggestions regarding these resorts?? Please help! |
The beaches are much nicer in Punta Cana than Puerto Plata.
Only been to the Jack Tar (when it was Adults only) and you have to cross the golf course to get to the beach. We stayed at the Ocean Bavaro in Punta Cana and the beach by far at this end of the island was more picturesque, swimmable and softer sand, whiter sand. The Jack Tar in Puerto Plata though is near a casino if you like that (not very big and I'm sure you won't win anything) and its near a shopping area (10 minute walk). I've probably made your decision more difficult? |
I would stay away from Allegro resorts. I have never been happy with them. Caribe Club in Punta Cana may be your best bet.

Thanks for the advice!
I am nervous about the Caribe Club because I saw pictures online and it looks kind of too colorful and cheezy. :) I love how Allegro Jack has so many thatched roofs around the resort I have heard though that the beaches in Puerto Plata are not as nice. Does anyone recommend a resort in Punta Cana that is in the same price range and has the same look as Allegro Jack Tar? Thank you!! |
Don't know what your price/budget is but check the Barcelo or Bavaro resorts for prices in Punta Cana.
They may be comparable. |
Check out the Iberostars in Punta Cana.
