Caribbean with toddlers!
OK - It's been 2 years since our last vacation and we want to visit the Caribbean. Any Ideas? I've done my homework and Sandal Beaches and Atlantis aren't looking good on my plate! Were thinking of going in August - We need recommended hotels or condos that can offer a great vacation for a family of four. All inclusive? Well sometimes AL are not the best places to visit but hey that's why this website was created - I could be wrong.
Thank You |
We just got back from Negril Jamaica & loved it. There were many families with young kids on our flight. We stayed at Beaches Negril & it was ok overall. If you wanted a place with organized activities for the kids that would let you have some free time then it would work.
My sis-in-law took her 2 small ones to Negril & stayed at Moon Dance Villas. They got a villa with a cook & bartender for what they would have paid for 1 room in a resort. They had reserved a 2 bedroom but were upgraded to a 3 bedroom (3500 sq ft) for the lower price. Their meals were cooked to order & the kids had ice cream drinks & everything they could want. The staff of their villa would watch the kids so she & hubby couuld walk the beach alone. Water sports were included but there were no organized resort type activities. Laundry was also done which is a big help when you have wet bathing suits. You can do AI or not. It just depends on your budget & needs. We loved Negril & so did our "big" kids (17 & 23). The water was incredible, the people everywhere were friendly & it was a relaxing time. |
Sounds like you guys had a blast! I wouldn't mind being pampered the way your sister in law was! I'm going to go ahead and research the Moon Dance Villas.
THX again! |
All depending on if you want to cook for yourself or not, but if you have toddlers, I prefer this option to an AI.
I would suggest a condo in Cayman (many choices) that is on the beach... toddlers will spend endless hours in a pool and on the beach. |
HMM! HAS ANYONE TAKEN OTHER AL RESORTS IN THE CARRIBEAN AND HAVE RECOMMENDED RESORTS TO VISIT? JAMAICA IS NICE BUT WHAT ABOUT OTHER ISLANDS? DOESN'T HAVE TO BE AL BUT WELL RECOMMENDED.
THX! |
Great for young children -- any of the condo resorts on Aruba (Marriott Ocean Club is a good one), condo resorts on Turks & Caicos (The Sands, Ocean Clubs, Royal West Indies), Hyatt Hacienda Del Mar(condo section of the Hyatts) in Dorado, Puerto Rico. I have children and have been to all three of these places.
