Caribbean w/ Kids in April -- PLEASE help

You've all been so helpful in the past. I need you again!

We've been trying to choose a destination in the Caribbean for next April, and we're running in circles here. We're a family of four w/ two young kids (3 yrs old and 8 mths).

Our budget for hotel is $700/night. We're looking for a suite w/ kitchen or a villa/condo. Must have maid service and a pool.

We want luxury, safety and a direct flight from NYC. Must be extremely family-friendly.

Every time I think we've got it, I discover some sort of problem (usually w/ sleeping arrangements). Any suggestions for specific resorts appreciated!!!!!!

I would check Regent Palms in turks and Caicos.

If that's over your budget, then next I would check out The Sands Resort in turks and Caicos.

T&C has direct flights from NY, (3 1/2 hours and you're there!) 80% of the resorts are condos with full kitchens, etc, yet are treated as resorts. Most have restaurants, all have restaurants in walking distance with sidewalks, etc. All have nice pools, and maid service.

the best part: T&C has the kid friendliest beaches in the world-if you click on this forum "very best resort", you'll see what I mean.

Many thanks, Blamona! I know you're the T&C expert.

Those resorts look terrific. Do you know if one of them has more kid-friendly activities than any of the others? Our toddler would love fish feedings or anything else fish-related.

Again, thanks!

Would you be open to Atlantis?

Hi Hannah B2.

We're looking into Atlantis. The Harborside Villas seem to fit the bill -- but after looking into it, it seems they're in a terrible location. So I just don't know.

Do you have any insight that could help?

Half Moon, Round Hill or Tryall offer staffed villas within a resort - nice combination of luxury and pampering (not only maid but chef and often bartender and/or nanny as well) with things to do for kiddies. All offer villas with private pools, all are very secure.

This is Jamaica - all 3 are also within 40 minutes of the airport.

Moondance Villas in Negril may be worth a look also though are usually booked full a year + ahead especially at school break times.

My personal 2 cents: Atlantis is fun! Harbourside Villas are next to the shopping area and marina, and have bus shuttles to the main part of the water park areas. BUT: I would wait until the kids are a little older to trully enjoy Atlantis, you have to be 46 inches tall for most of the slides/lazy rivers, etc. They do have a small section for little kids in between Royal Towers and the Cove, but kids will want the other slides-more fun for them! They do offer movies, and you can have your picture taken with dolphins, but again, to fully take advantage of Atlantis, I would wait a couple more years. As far as luxury, again just my opinion, but T&C will be more luxurious.

How is the location of the Beach Tower in Atlantis? It is the cheapest of the three towers and I was thinking that it may be far from the activities.
