Caribbean Vacation that is adventurous.
My girlfriend and I are in our late 20's and will be have vacation in April. We want to go somewhere in the carribean, but we did not want to stay at an all-inclusive resort. We wanted to go on mini-adventures like dirt bike riding, snorkeling, or cliff diving etc. Is there any island that would be particularly amazing and/or are there any companies/websites that offer packages like that?

Most Caribbean islands are tiny and one island fits all-- for example, to snorkel dive you need Virgin Islands, Caymans, Bonaire, or Turks and Caicos. Not dirt bike, no cliff diving, etc
Sounds like you're looking more mainland, something with bigger landmass-- I think Mexico has everything you might be looking for Costa Rica is an adventure type destination too (but beaches aren't as nice as Caribbean in my opinion) |
It sounds like you would like the Yucatan area of Mexico or Costa Rica or Belize. They all have zip lining, dirt bike riding, snorkeling, and other adventures.

Look at Negril Jamaica. www.negrilonestop.com is a good website.
If you don't want an all-inclusive resort, likely you don't want a "package" vacation. Price airfare, transfers, and a hotel (cabins, cottages) on your own. |
I also agree that many of the resort towns in Mexico also offer what you ask for.

The Caribbean Sea washes Mexico but that country is NOT the Caribbean! Great place but nothing like the Caribbean islands which are all different and unique. My choices would be Jamaica or St. Lucia.
Good luck. |
I didn't say they were the same, I said Mexico offers everything on this couples wish list.
