Ditto on Jamaica--would never go there again. Aggressive beach vendors and shop people, plus unfriendly people. We LOVE the Caymans and most all of the other islands...

I agree that St. Martin and Barbados are two of my least favorite islands. The worst in my opinion are the US Virgin Islands. My favorites are Grenada and Dominica. St. Lucia used to be nice but has become overdeveloped in most areas.

Favorites: Jamaica (obviously) outside the resorts, Barbuda, Grenada, Los Roches, Marie Galante and Isles des Saintes, Harbour island/Eleuthera in Bahamas, Bocas del Toro in Panama.

Although I prefer to hear what people love about the various caribbean islands - it is sometimes helpful to hear what people haven't
liked about a certain island too.

I imagine you can tell I would like to put in my two cents worth on this.

I absolutely hated the Bahamas!! It's been a four years now but when I came back I posted on every board I could find. I was traveling with a group of
women and we were treated AWFUL!!! From the hotel staff to various restaurants to the street vendors. One of the locals posted that yes we indeed were probably treated poorly...as a group - women are perceived as poor tippers, unimportant and a threat to other women...we couldn't even get someone to unlock a wheelchair for my mom at the airport - after waiting 45 minutes I enlisted the help of an important looking male - had the wheelchair in minutes!! So If I can
enlighten a group of women who are planning a trip during offseason - that this could happen to them - then I will.
I thought the island was beautiful... but never again under any circumstances:) Too many other islands.
