Caribbean Island with white sand and Mountains and the bright Turquoise Blue
I have been to Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and Jamaica, time to find another Paradise, but this time I want Mountains, seems like the Virgin Islands the resorts are somewhat limited, and there are mostly timeshares.
Want a nice resort with a great pool and beach.
Suggestions????????

Look at Secret Harbor, Marriott Frenchman's Reef/Morning Star, Wyndham Sugar Bay and Emerald Beach for nice hotels on St. Thomas.
We stayed at the Wyndham Sugar Bay in May '05. Though it wasn't our favorite resort of all the Islands we been to, it was fine. We did their AI plan and enjoyed it. It's an easy ferry ride or book an excursion to St. John.
St. Lucia is absolutely beautiful. Full of mountains, lush greenery, banana planatations and waterfalls. The beaches aren't white sand and the water is not crystal clear, but the Island is gorgeus. We stayed at the Sandals Grande.
Here's a link to our pics if interested:

Do not go to St. Thomas if you want to go off the resort. We stayed at the Marriott Frenchman's Reef/Morning Star last year & had one of the Morning Star rooms (down the hill on the beach). It was gorgeous. Other people we were with had rooms in one of the sections on the hill & said their rooms were terrible (the other section on the hill seemed OK - did not hear complaints). The pool is on the hill, not near the beach. The beach is nice, a little bit of decent snorkeling off the beach. We drove around most of the island. Not good for sightseeing - just tourists, residents, cars, & homes everywhere. St. Thomas is a haven for cruises - not a great place to get out & explore the island.
However, if you like a real touristy area with a lot of restaurants, etc. then you might like it.
The other US Virgin Islands and the BVI get my vote.
