Caribbean Hopping Honeymoon?

Hi there

My fiance and I are getting married in May next year and we are currently planning our honeymoon. We like the idea of 'caribbean hopping' a few islands! We were going to take 3 - 4 weeks and maybe stay 4 - 7 in each resort, so we need 4/5 resorts. What we like is the more 'upscale' resorts since it's our honeymoon! I had thought along the lines of Biras Creek, Ladera, Cap Jaluca, Caneel, Little Dix Bay, and then maybe a slightly lesser expensive one also! What is important to us is excellent food (we are food snobs!), room/cottage right on the beach, outside tub/shower (honeymoon!!), watersports, a bit of night life (not clubs, just a little liveliness). I would like to try caribbean islands, USVI, BVI, Bahamas, Cayman Islands.......

Sorry this is so long!! Can anyone suggest a good itinerary for us?? Thank you so much for your help!

Vicky

Vicky,
My first suggestion would be to look at a map. I'm assuming that you want to maximize your time at resorts and minimze your time traveling. You might consider skipping the Bahamas since they are not in the Caribbean but in the Atlantic ocean off the coast of Florida.
My vote would be for Little Dix, Caneel, Cap J and Ladera or Four Seasons Nevis.
You must have an awesome budget for this honeymoon. Congrats!

Although St Kitts is not on your list of islands, I would very highly recommend, for a couple of days, Ottleys Plantation Inn on St Kitts. It is an absolutely gorgeous property with a great house and individual guest villas furnishings set admist acres of rolling lawns and the most gorgeous landscaping you will ever see - very romantic, perfect for honeymooners. The restaurant on property is also excellent - great food, excellent service not just in the restuarant but generally. If you decide to go to the Four Seasons in Nevis, you could go over to St Kitts for a few days and stay at Ottleys.

I would go to St. Barts and St. John, USVI. You can take day trips from St. John over to the BVI's.

Caneel Bay is lovely but the rooms are not luxury although very nice. The property is exquisite.

Another suggestion which we did for our honeymoon is rent a gorgeous villa. That was the most romantic of all.

You could go out each night to different restaurants and also have a chef come into cook one night. Talk about awesome food. It's something to think about. We almost went to Caneel until a few people mentioned renting a villa. So glad we did. There are many to choose from on St. John. The chef they recommended to come and cook for us was wonderful.

Although we have not yet been to St. Barts, we have heard through friends that it is beautiful, great resataurants and shopping.

A friend of ours honeymooned on St. Lucia and said she wished they had gone to St. John instead.

You will probably be overwhelmed with everyone's suggestions on here.

Congratulations!

St Martin can easily access you to St Barts,Anguilla, and Saba.Major airlines will fly you there, spend a night and party there casinos night life etc, then go elsewere.Recomend Cap in Anguilla back to St Martin then over to Isles de France St Barts, then shoot over to Saba if diving is your thing.
