Caribbean Getaway in May
 

My husband and I are trying to take a little vacation in May (think first time parents with a 10 month old who need a little time of R&R together). Any suggestions on where we should go during that time of year? We really like nice restaurants and beautiful beaches/pool and some shopping. Suggestions?

What is your budget? From where will you be flying?

We will be leaving from the New York area for maybe 4 days. We hadn't discussed budget yet, perhaps something a level below "four season type" accomodations.

Did you see crowisland2's post about the Gibney Beach Cottage on STJ? She can't go because of personal issues and is looking for someone to take the cottage for a week in May.

St. John is beautiful - has fantastic beaches, great restaurants and a little shopping. I'm not sure if the cottage has a pool, but it's worth considering.

St. John is my favorite island...I'll be there for 2 weeks in May myself.

Based on your timeframe I would recommend Provo on T&C island. Its a quick 3 1/2 hour flight from NY. Upscale accomodations to look into are point grace, grace bay club and turks and caicos club. The beaches are great and some nice restaurants.
