caribbean from Boston direct
 

Hi, I am hoping to travel on 2/15/07 from Boston Logan airport (do not wish to fly out of Providence or Manchester) to somewhere warm, probably the caribbean with my husband. We will be traveling for 4 nights/5 days. My main criteria is that we would like a direct flight b/c the trip is so short we do not want a lot of travel time. That really seems to limit us but I did find direct flights to the Bahamas on jetblue. I priced out air and a stay at sandals and it is $3168 for the two us (air and sandals stay. Does anyone know of any other direct flights out of logan to a warm location for about $3000 for 4 nights in Feb? We would like to stay at an all inclusive with no children-since we will be leaving ours at home! Does that seem like a reasonable price?

There aren't too many nonstops from Boston to the Caribbean, so you'll have more options if you allow a plane change in Puerto Rico. Also, please don't limit yourselves to AIs. Your price range will certainly work, and you'll have many more choices if you don't limit yourself. From what you say about yourself, I think you'd enjoy Turks & Caicos (perhaps Grace Bay Club) or Barbados (Almond Beach Club, a clubby, adults-only AI in Barbados), or Grand Lido resorts in Jamaica; also look at San Souci. The Dominican Republic has a few all-adult places, including Secrets Excellence. You might also look at someplace on Antigua like Curtain Bluff or Carlisle Bay.

Many resorts will be available to you for your price range, so keep looking. I'd actually suggest you talk to a local travel agent, who will be more up on the nonstop flights from Boston than I am. But other posters here are sure to know more as well. Good luck.

As a fellow Bostonian searching for Carribean deals in Feb, I checked out the JetBlue site. They are starting up a new service to Puerto Rico (PR) in December 06; didn't see any prices tho. Also saw some place that El Conquisator in PR has a special that runs during Feb.

As others have stated there aren't many non-stops to the Caribbean from Boston, except to Puerto Rico. Most islands are reached by a connection in San Juan. However, American Airlines has one non-stop daily from Boston to Aruba. I don't know about AI's in Aruba but it's not a super expensive island and you would have many dining choices in all price ranges so I'm pretty sure your budget would work out. I believe AA also has a non-stop to St. Thomas but I don't think they have a non-stop on the return. You might want to check aavacations.com to explore pricing on a flight and hotel package.

I'm thinking 15 February is during school vacation week? I now understand your desire for an all-inclusive that excludes children. The Caribbean is likely to be full of families during that week. Likewise, I know flights and hotels fill up quickly so you might want to make your plans as soon as possible. You might not have trouble getting an adults only AI but you might have trouble getting a flight.

My wife and I travelled non stop from boston to aruba back in Jan. We stayed at Golden Tulip Bucuti Beach Resort. It was nice, no kids allowed.. I would recommend staying in the Tara Suites which are newer. We also went to the casino at the Hilton which looked quite nice although alot busier (ie. families..). I think we flew AA on a thurs and came back on tues...

We fly from Boston non-stop, and the only islands I can think of are: Aruba, San Juan, St. Thomas, Nassau, and Turks and Caicos
