Car rental - St. Martin
 

Scheduled to go to St. Martin in two weeks and will be renting a car. I just reviewed car rentals on Fodor's forum and see a long litany of problems with people renting cars in St. Martin and feeling they were being scammed by rental people (Thrifty/Dollar rentals seem to be a primary problem). I'll be staying on Dutch side in Simpson Bay area. Can anyone tell me a reliable rental place that can be trusted?

Please go to traveltalkonline.com and go to st. martin forum. There are people on there who retired and live on the island. You will find that site most helpful with car rentals. We used one who was there sponser from that site, and was satisfied. It was extremely cheap as well.

For the past 5 years we have rented from Michael at Unity car rental in Simpson Bay, one block off the main street. He is 5 minutes from the airport, picks us up from our flight is never late and drops us off at the airport after our trip. He came highly recommended to us and we recommend him to you.
