We are planning a day trip to St. Barths from St. Martin in December. Are there any car rental companies at the ferry dock for the Rapid Explorer or do we need to head to the airport to pick up a car? Thanks for your help!

I don't recall seeing any rental cars available right at the dock but there were plenty of car rental companies within a few blocks of the dock. You shouldn't have any trouble getting one.

I have only been to St Barths by air. Can you tell me where the ferry dock is located? Is it in downtown Gustavia? Do you recall any names of rental car companies? The majors seem to all list the airport as their location. Thanks!

The ferry docks in Gustavia. The car rental places are at the airport. If you reserve, they will meet the ferry and have the car there waiting for you. I know Gumbs does this.
Go to www.sbhonline.com and you can search all the car rentals.
Or you could take a taxi from Gustavia to the airport, etc.

There are a couple of car rental places just a few blocks from the pier. One is Tropicall and another just across the road.

Hertz have an office just opposite the dock. If you go a bit further into town, take the road to the left past the select (not up the hill) and you will find Beranger a hundred yards or so on the left.
In both cases it may take a while to get the car to you, so you could either book in advance or grab a cab and go to the airport.
