Captain Marvin's or Bob Soto's

Does anyone have a preference for snorkeling between these two companies on Grand Cayman or suggestions for other tours/companies that you may have enjoyed successful trips with?

We had a great time with Captain Marvin. Small group, great staff. Our tour was focused on the stingrays and they took us to a spot that wasn't too busy.

Captain Marvin gets the most recommendations especially on the cruise boards. However, we went with Soto and had a great trip. It was a few dollars less and they took us to Coral Gardens AND the Barrier Reef before we went to the Sting Rays. That's why we chose them.

We also went to Coral Gardens and the Barrier reef before Stingray city with Captain Marvin's though.

I've been on both...and I vote Captain Marvin's on a day when no cruise ships are in...hands down.

If you go when the ships ARE in (and only if it cannot be avoided) go on an afternoon trip, although...

Their full day trip, is amazing!

A vote here for Native Way Watersports. There were only 22 of us on the boat (of which 12 were our group), and after doing the Stingray City Sandbar, we headed to a great snorkeling area by Rum Point (we were the only boat there) and spent awhile there before heading to Rum Point for lunch and some time relaxing at their great property. Cost was $60 pp ($45 under 12), and included transportation and lunch at Rum Point.

to give more info on Capt. Marvin's...

their full day has a conch dive stop (in season) which they tell you all about, show you how to clean, then marinate as part of your lunch.

They have a videographer on board that makes up dvd's you can purchase of your day.

They then stop at Coral Gardens, a nice reef, before heading to lunch at the Kaibo. (look for lots of starfish in the shallows here) You have lunch on the beach, it is Caymanian Chicken or Fish, the conch, plantains, beans and rice, bread and cake. Was very good.

You board the boat again, head out to stingray sandbar - do that (and this is about the same with any company you go out with), then on to the barrier reef. Where you get a tour of the coral heads by the guys on the boat.

We love this trip.
