Cap Juluca in May
 

Has anyone been to Anguilla in the beginning of May? What is the weather like? I am trying to get my clothes together for the honeymoon and dont know how to pack!

I have been there in early May, and late May. I pack the same type of clothes-linens, silks, cottons. The dress during the day is very casual-beach cover ups, shorts etc. At night
sun dress, capri pants, bright silks and the basic black. My husband does wear nice Bermuda shorts to some spots in the evening, others long pants.

So it is beach weather right? I just wanted to make sure I wasnt going to be cold.. The beach is swimmable in May? Thanks!!

It's beach weather in the Caribbean and at Cap Juluca just about all year round. May is usually perfect with warm sunny days, think mid to high 80's F, and warm water to match.

I'm going the end of May also. For men at night is a polo shirt ok or does it really have to be a button down?? I want to make the clothes thing as easy as possible but I can already tell I am going to stress. Do they have dry cleaning at the hotel? I know, relax, but I do want to take things that are not washable. And shoes for women, if we "dress" one night for dinner, are heels doable or it is just crazy & stick to sandels or low heel sandels? And is that the same for going out?Thanks!

Don't stress - you going on vacation. Most people bring more clothes than they need. Try to limit your self to one standard size 22" roll-on per person (do laugh it can be done). When packing put everything you think you'll need on your bed, put half in your suitcase, put the remaining half back in the closet. Follow the old adage - take less clothes and more money. Don't worry no one will notice (or even care) that you might wear the same outfit several times during your stay. CJ does have laundry service.

For men, khakis and collared golf shirts will do fine for dinner.

I'm no expert on women's attire but from a practical standpoint my spouse never wears heels in the Caribbean. Stick to sandals.

I sometimes bring my little heeled sandals to Anguilla but most of the restaurants you will have to go thru some sandy walks. Yes, I will bring them on my next trip, but flat sandals too (the new ones are so pretty).I only bring 3 pair-sometimes 2 pair-including the shoes I wear on the plane!

I have my carry on luggage full-lots of clothes, sometimes too many. Its all in the packing, rolling/folding!

I have never used CJ's laundry service--but I have used the cleaning-
never again. They really overkill on the cleaning fluid-and I am not too happy how they press! They do have an iron/board in each room. On the island you will see very casual-and smart casual. Not to worry! Dress up one night--but its never the cruise glitz.

Thanks for the info. I should know better, we travel alot but haven't been to Cap. I appreciate the pointers. Knowing what to expect takes away the stress. And happy honeymoon Ray79! We're celebrating my 30 year work anniversary & the visions of retirement...and more travel.
