Honest reports are wonderful ...... That is exactly what is needed on a site like this . NO-ONE is harping on Adverse Bill because he disliked Caneel ...... rather his choice of words " jive up the language ,what is the deal with the locals , swaggers worse than Bushes etc. " Seperate the two please , re-read the posts if you must ..... Faith .

faithie: Yes! I don't understand why people think anyone is defending Caneel or its service after reading and comprehending the posts. When Marion brought this thread back to illustrate advsrbill's history of comments, I didn't realize it was an old thread. But then, posters began to follow it again. I guess it's valuable to revisit to some extent because it seems it still causes confusion and needs clarification.

I really do regret bringing this old post back.

Fortunately or unfortunately we all have a history of posts here. I know I often post too quickly...the "butttons and triggers" again. I'm know I have some regrets for some of my past posts as well.

I apologize to those who were offended by Bill's post, by bringing it up again.

Current comments are probably not even being read by Bill. As Tuxedocat wisely observed, his threat/promise to stay away from this board seems to be a reality.

So...we seem to be preaching to the choir

Did that make any sense ?

Marion

No one has addressed the idea of writing to Rosewood about the service at Caneel Bay. If I were that dissatisfied you can be sure someone that could actually DO something would be notified. We stayed at CB in Oct of 2001--no complaints about service but the rooms did seem "ordinary" for the price. I would go back simply for the beauty of it all. We are trying Little Dix this fall and hope to have as good an experience. If not- I will definitely let Rosewood know. Perhaps if more people did things would change.-- Isn't there a saying that goes something like...if you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem?

Terric: You got it! We should send infor. to the folks at Rosewood. That's the highest and best use of these forums to assist travelers. It should be about improving our traveling experiences.

Marion: You are the best. You always make sens even when you're off kilter.

Avderse Bill could easily get the email address of Rosewood and send them this thread with 4-5 sentences as a preface to get them toread it. They may discount some of it because of the negativism not really relating to the resort but the cultural issues as pointed out earlier.A copy to Caneel would not hurt but I would send it a week after sending it to Rosewood.
It may help those of us who plan to return in the next few years.
