Caneel Bay best rooms with 2 yr old?

We are finalizing a trip to Caneel Bay at the end of June and would appreciate any room recommendations/suggestions. I have read that Caneel Beach is the most popular for families. However we only one daughter who will be 23 months by then and are concerned that section may be too busy with older families/crowded/too close to activities. Also debating ocean front vs. ocean view. Have also read ocean front you give up a bit of privacy as people may often be on the beach right in front of your room? Thinking of trying for Cottage Point section.

Thanks in advance! Also considered Little Dix Bay but the restaurant choices seemed very limited with a little one?

I've been to Caneel many times and actually wouldn't stay in the sections that are right on the beach (like Scott Beach) because I wouldn't like the people so close to the unit. I think that children are really only supposed to be on Caneel Beach (although you should check that out before you go since you'll be there in the off season). If you want a unit with separate space for your daughter, look into the rooms across from and next to the fitness center. Some of them have a separate bedroom.

Thank you! What were your overall thoughts on the resort - did you like it and was it as expected?

If Caneel will allow your little one on Hawksnest Beach, I'd suggest an upper level room on that beach. You'll have privacy, a screened balcony to the rear facing the gardens, and a front balcony overlooking the beach. The beach faces east. With sea grape trees on the beach, there will be plenty of shade from mid-morning on, and the trade winds will fan you. Few people on the beach at any time. Caneel is a beach and nature lovers' paradise. IMO, blows Little Dix away.

Ok thanks. We have now completely switched and may do Antigua, St. Martin or St. Lucia. Likely Antigua! Cannot decide.

Can anyone offer and deep discount routes for Caneel Bay? I know some resorts will offer a deep friends and family discount through certain agents, etc. If I can learn of anything, I'll try to move forward with it. Thanks!

I would suggest Cottage & if you can afford it abd it is available when you arrive. But it is "on request" and ONLY accept rooms C, D, or E. You have great views a lovely lawn but you child cannot acccess it without you and it is not far from the main dining room.We stayed there twice and loved it. There is even a small private beach you can take your daughter to.One other dining room will be open but you will have to take the jitney that runs every 10-15 minutes. Hawks Nest is not bad but if you are on the first floor your little one could accidently roam 50 yards to the beach nut that just where the beach begins.
Caneel does not offer discounts except sometimes in low season (Aug-Oct.) stay 5 nights and pay for 4 excluding food).
Hope this helps.
