In no particular order:

El Pescador
La Parilla
Rosa Mexicana
Carillo's
Perico's
Senor Frog's
La Habichuela
Pizza Rolandi
Splash

All these are dinner places. Can't help with breakfast--we eat in our condo (time share). Lunch is usually fast food, but the Forum has a brewery and another nice place to eat by the water.

For the special dinner of the trip, Bogarts. Expensive, but wonderful food, service, and atmosphere. Ruth's Chris Stakehouse for Dinner. Captain's Cove for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Pat O'Brien's or Senor Frog's for any fun meal. Equal to Hard Rock or Planet Hollywood for food, but the price and service seemed better.

We just got back last Saturday from Cancun. Our favorites for Dinner are 1. La Dolce Vita 2. El Mexicano (includes a folklorico show, no cover charge)3.El Conquistador at the Royal Mayan ( You need to be with a guest of the Royal Resorts) 4.El Mortero 5. Rolandis 6. Captain's Cove 7. The Seafood Buffet at the Marriot 8.Rosa Mexicana 9. La Habichuela (Try to reserve a table on the Patio. 10. For breakfast, The Captain's Cove is reasonable and has a variety of offerings. The Melia Cancun has a breakfast buffet where you can get handmade(to order) Sopas and quesadillas. It's twice the price of the Captain's Cove.
For an interesting, off the beaten path experience, take the bus to Rio Nizuc, swim and spend the day on the beach near the Rio Nizuc seafood stand. Go during the week, as the area is crowded with locals on the weekend. It's not open for dinner. (no electricity) You won't be disappointed. They only use fresh caught shrimp and fish. We also have a time share, so breakfast and lunch is usually at our villa. Buen provecho!

Maria Bonita by far. Great Decor and food. You may want to call ahead for a reservation. When I went in November it was crowded, and we watited about 30 minutes, but It was worth the wait.
