The Royal Hideaway and Moon Palace aren't actually in Cancun but rather Playa Del Carmen, about 60 miles south. They are, however, both wonderful resorts and probably two of the more expensive.

A good 3 star is El Pueblito, an awsome 4+* is Gran Caribe Real.

Your better resorts in Cancun, for the most part, aren't all-inclusives. But if it has to be all-inclusive and in Cancun I recommend the Hyatt Cancun Caribe Villas & Resort, Sun Palace, Cancun Palace, or Royal Solaris Caribe.

dont go to the moon palace the beaches are black and so is the water. The resort is nice but it is not near anything. I would not recommend it. Royal Hideaway is the place to go

The only place I have ever had valuables [specifically cash] taken from my room was at Royal Solaris. This had to have been done by the chambermaid as it was in a drawer under clothes, and only present out of the safe for 1 day. I thought it was too crowded, we stood in line for towels, had to put our towels on chairs at 6AM if we hoped to have a place to sit after breakfast, and food was only average. I wouldn't go back there for all the tea in China. My preference is actually the Blue Bay Village - not really upscale but only about 200 rooms, not on the busiest section of the beach, adults only, no crowds. Just a very relaxing week.

The Moon Palace doesn't have black beaches and black water. It is right outside Cancun not 60 miles south in Playa.

Moon Palace doesn't have black water beach .It does have a poor quality -seaweeded beach and is in the middle of....nothing ! I would rather spend money on the Royal Hideaway ,great everything !(it's in Playa Del Carmen,5 minutes taxi ride to downtown)or if you want to stay in Cancun , there are several nice hotels...So does Playa Del Carmen.( less money than Royal Hideaway)
