CAN YOU WALK ON THE BEACH AT NIGHT IN ST. JOHN OR WILL THE BUGS OVERTAKE YOU?

CAN YOU WALK ON THE BEACH AT NIGHT IN ST. JOHN OR WILL THE BUGS OVERTAKE YOU? ALSO, CAN YOU SWIM AT THE POOL AT NIGHT? WE WANT TO BE ABLE TO HANG OUT AT NIGHT WITHOUT BE MALLED TO DEATH.

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR THE REPLIES.

Just use a good insect repellant and you will be fine. I used Deep Woods Off all the time because the little noseeums just love my ankles. Swimming in your pool should not pose a problem.
I'm curious though. What do you mean, "malled to death"? That sounds like what happens to me when I do too much shopping.

malled to death kind of means eaten to death. I probably used the wrong choice of words. ha ha

Thanks for the advice! I do appreciate it!

It's "mauled" (as in bear attack) not "malled" (as in shopped to death).
Bugs are bad on St. John, but repellent helps.

Since St. John is mostly a national park they do not spray for bugs so you will find it very buggy. But thats the reason we go there cause when we're being eaten alive by bugs we KNOW we're in paradise, the Jewel of the Caribbean.

If being eaten alive is your idea of Paradise, then pray tell Mr. de Sade, what is your idea of Hades?
