Beaches was great. The walk from the pool to the beach is 2 min max, through a nice grove of trees. The walk is worth it though once you see the beach. There was lots of palapas on the beach. See trip report at http://www.tropictravelonline.com/sa...esreports.html

Jim -

You can to get to cuba through Jamaica. Air Jamaica has flights from Montego Bay to Havana. You should buy your ticket separate from your ticket to Montego bay and pay with cash.

Just returned today from Cuba.Wow,wow, and wow again!
The Riu Turquesa at Varadero is excellent, and the food very good (lobster, large prawns and hot roasted pork and beef etc.)
Most importantly,do not miss Havana. We stayed at the Hotel Nacional for four nights, and the city is really alive and kicking - America, you really do not know what you're missing!
Steve.
