Can you recommend an island?

What I am looking for is a nice island where everthing is centrally located and we get there everywhere by walking. Also, looking for great snorkeling, food and entertainment. Thanks for your help!

They're could be a ton of answers to this. Our experience would indicate Ocho Rios, Jamaica. We stayed 3 times at the Jamaica Grand and it is right in town so shops are close. There is snorkeling available from their dock, they have shows several times per week, the food is great IF you don't mind spicy. They have AI and EP plans as well.

Grand Case (ST.Martin) would fit your requirement.

I agree with St. Maarten/St. Martin, either staying near Simpson Bay on the Dutch side or Marigot on the French side. Lots of restaurants within walking distance from both spots, plus all the watersports. Excursions to downtown Phillipsburg for shopping from Simpson Bay or Baie Orientale for a spectacular beach from Marigot are easy.

Just to clarify. St. Maarten/St. Martin is fine for walking only if you stay in the general area of your hotel. If you wish to see the rest of the island, however, it's ideal to rent a car. In all honestly, most people who visit St. Maarten rent a car.

The entire island is not a walking island at all, but the various areas mentioned have a lot of things within walking distance of that particular area. As long as you wish to stay in the vicinity of your hotel, then walking isn't a problem, as stated.

The smaller islands near St. Maarten are really ideal for walking due to their size, but don't have as much activity either.
