Camping in November?
Hi everybody!
I'm from the Czech Republic, but now I study in Lyon, France. We'll have a winter holiday 1-8th November and I was wondering where to go cheaply - and I found action offers from Paris to Martinique, Gaudeloupe or St Marteen for 420€ round.
I think it's a pretty interesting price, isn't it? What do you think?
Regardless it's a nice price, i will not have more money for accommodation. I have a sleeping bag and a tent here with me. Has anybody from you already tried it? To camp in such awesome islands as these? I was trying to find some information about it but without results...
What do you think? Is it worthy to spend 420 euros for a ticket and then to try to camp there? Or should I go somewhere nearer in Europe and forget about the Caribbiean Islands?
Thanks for the answers!

You won't be able to camp for free anywhere. First off, it's just not safe enough. Second, you'd have to camp in an established campground. There are some relatively cheap places to stay in Martinique and Guadeloupe, but you'd also need a car to get around. I just don't think these islands are for you.
Aim for the backpacker destination of Cabarete or Sosua on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic. You can get by without a car there, and there are cheap hostel-like accommodations. There are actual campgrounds in the U.S. Virgin Islands and in the British Virgin Islands, as well as on a few other islands. But they are not common, and the sights aren't that cheap.
You may want to forget about this trip and stick closer to home. Food is also fairly expensive in the Caribbean.

Anyone can camp on the beaches in St Croix, USVI for free. But there are no bathroom facilities. There are two great campgrounds on St Croix. Mt Victory, which is up in the rainforest, and Cane Bay Campground, at Cane Bay Beach. Both are reasonably priced.

No need to take a long grungy expensive flight.
you have tonnes of beautiful cheap options
better for camping much closer to where you are.
sardegna.com my fav around Costa Smeralda Golfo Aranci Alghero
Beaches as good or better prettier than anything in Carib
Much better camping options... ferries cheap flights from
where you are will save you a tonne.
