Calling USA from Bermuda
My wife and I are leaving the kids behind in NY, and going to Bermuda for a work-related convention. This is the first time the young ones will be in somone elses care for more than one evening, and I know my wife will be calling home frequently during our five-day trip. Can anyone suggest an economical way to call home from Bermuda?

two tin cans and a very long string?

You could go to an internet cafe in St. George or Hamilton which would save lots of $$

Don't know how to do it right, but I can tell you not to bother with phone cards. We had two different ones with us, and neither worked!<BR>I like the internet idea. Will you have your laptop along? Does the hotel have hookup for your conference?<BR>Well, have a wonderful time, and try not to call too frequently anyway. Gets the kids all worked, and consequently, wife too!<BR>

I like the tin can suggestion, but finding that length of string might be tricky. Don't think I can get to the internet cafe, and even if I do, or have my laptop with me, the kids a too young to appreciate a written message. Come to think of it, my wife also wouldn't be placated by writing. I'm getting the feeling it's going to cost me a bundle. BTW, did you purchase a phone card in Bermuda, or bring one from the US? I checked with MCI, and they already told me not to bother with theirs.
