Cabarete anyone?
 

Has anyone been to Cabarete in the Dominican Republic? <BR> <BR>Do you recommend it? <BR> <BR>Know of a good hotel?

I am going to Cabarete for the first time on April 14 and staying at the Windsurf Resort at Cabarete Beach. If you are traveling after that date, I will let you know what it was like!

karen, <BR> <BR>are you a windsurfer? is that the main draw for you? <BR> <BR>my friends and i are thinking about going to cabarete, but we're not windsurfers. more just for fun and sun. wondering if it's not the right place for us. heard the beach is too windy for sunbathing.

I have windsurfed a few times and plan to try it again but that is not the reason why we are going there. We have a timeshare and have exchanged it to go there. However, everything I have read sounds very good; it sounds like a sleepy beach town with restaurants on the beach and some night life. I hadn't heard about the wind interfering with sunbathing; where did that info come from? I wouldn't think that it would be so popular as a windsurfing area if the wind is really that strong. At any rate, I will be going there and can't wait to leave. Eighty-four degrees anywhere sounds very good right now!

I am going there as well on a time share. We're staying at the resort called Paraiso del Sol, which I believe is affiliated w/ Camino del Sol. I'm wondering if we get a full run of the resort even though we're just in a time-share? They have a meals included deal, are we in on that? From the resort can you walk into Cabarete and what is that town like? What are the safety issues? Is driving that much of a problem? I haven't been to the D.R. since 1985 and that was on the So. shore/Santo Domingo. We'd like to go horseback riding to the caves/waterfalls. And what about golf? Is overly crowded/expensive? <BR>Thanks for any info on the above

Karen, <BR> <BR>How was your trip? My boyfriend has a time share and we are thinking of staying at the Windsuf Resort in December. Did you enjoy it? Was it nice? Did you feel safe? Any comments would be appreciated. Hope you're tan!
