BVI - no topless, or OK?

Is it OK for women to go topless/thong (on the more secluded beaches) in BVI, or is this frowned upon there? I know that there are no swimsuits off the beaches..

Leila,
the rule is:no nudity. THe practice is: yes nudity. We're on the islands every year for a couple of months to update travel guide, and the number of women going topless is groing, especially on Long Bay, Brewers Bay and where ever on a certain day/place.
We've even seen 100% nudity (on above beaches), but that is realy stretching it.
Bottom line: topless is kind of getting acceptable (but still very few women do it), I've never heard of someone getting arrested fot it, but keep it down and don't go walking around topless into a beach bar.
Hope this helps,
Peter
www.antilia.com
If you rent a villa, you will have no problem at all. Generally, they have a great deal of privacy, anyway. Residents tend to be quite discrete. Probably most are not apt to like it, but few would comment. We stay at Frenchman's Cay and several times there have been nudists on the open porches of the cottages there. The managers, who I know, were quite aware of it, but were comfortable with it as long as they remained on their porch. Thongs I think would be no problem at all.
