BVI Bare boat advice please :)

Two funseeking couples heading to BVI's for an 8 day bareboat charter need suggestions on provisioning on a Sunday, where is the best place etc and anchorages. We want to hit the "trendy" drinkin' beach places but also would like some suggestions on secluded los key quiet coves/bays in which to anchor off of the beaten path. Finally, EVERY suggested route we see suggests Jost Van Dye last because it si so great.ANy othert iteneraries suggested? Will gladly accept any and ALL suggestions/information. Have several cruise guide and teh Drinking Mans Guide as well but we love to hear from someone who lives or has lived it please:)
THANKS<

While you will probably get a few responses on this forum you should post your question on the BVI forum at www.traveltalkonline.com There are lots of BVI sailing experts on that forum that can recommend the best anchorages - places like Jost, Anegada, Cooper Island, the Dogs, etc. all come to mind.

FYI - assuming you are boarding your bareboat in Tortola try Bobby's for your provisions.

Might find the BVI forum @ talktalkonline.com an excellent resource for all sorts of info. Covers everything one can imagine - and things one cannot!

Beachplum - I think your link is wrong. Perhaps you meant the traveltalkonline site I referenced in my earlier post.

sorry about the wrong link ... you are correct - it doesn't work but yours does! I just typed it in and Fodor's made it a link - didn't post it as a link (if that makes a difference!)

Great minds and all that since we were posting almost at the same second and agree that it is the best resource for limin'!

:-)

We have done 3 bareboat trips in the BVI's. We love it there. Yes, Jost is not to be missed. If you mooring outside the soggydollar, be sure to walk to your right through a few rocks in the water to find Ivan's stress free honor bar. You pour your own drinks and put you $ in a toolbox. There are a few great lobster places on Jost as well as the infamous FOXY's. Donovans Reef is a good restaurant to hit (on it's own spit of land). Marina Cay has a fun Pussers. We love a night at the bitter end Yacht club and Saba Rock. You can't go wrong on this trip. You will be returning too. Just ask where the happening night spots are on which nights to chart your course. There are plenty of low key areas to stop along the way too. Virgin Gorda is beautiful and there are many great snorkeling spots. As far as provisionings, we actually checked a cooler with a frozen lasagna, meats and a few favorites that would be hard to get or expensive. You could pack a day or 2's worth and chart your course for some provisions along the way. It saved us a ton and we were able to have what we liked. We ate most dinners out and fixed breakfast and lunch on the boat. It worked out great. Have a blast. Don't try jumping naked at the Willy T. That's a wild place to hit on it's happening night.
