Brewer's Yeast for sandfleas/bugs? Does it work?

Hello.
I have heard somewhere that taking a tablet or two of brewer's yeast daily for 2 or 3 weeks before traveling to the Caribbean will keep the bugs and sand fleas at bay.
Can someone confirm for me that this actually does work, how much to take, and how far in advance to start taking it?
Thanks!

Nancy/Deep Woods Off with heavy Deet is about only sure-fire anti-skeeter and noseeums/ticks defense-preventative.
B/Bcomplex vitamins,Avon Skin So Soft, brewer's yeast, pennyroyal, citronella are all pretty weak and ineffective for me, having tried 'em all.

The Deep Woods Off is already packed, but I thought I might give something "natural" a chance.
I'm sure you're right though, nothing like DEET!
Thanks!

I'm one of those people that bugs are particularly attracted to and find that even deet doesn't work that well. I used it throughout a 2 week trip and still came home with hundreds of bites whereas my husband only had a few. He swears it's because of all the gin and tonics he drinks! Seriously though, I am still trying to find a bug repellant that works effectively for me.

YES, it really does work! You'll need to start taking it about a week before you travel to build up your immunity. And, if your pets are bothered by fleas at home, it will work for them, too.
