Breezes, Bahamas

I am staying there early April. Would greatly appreciate any info. Particularly, is the construction still going on there? Read in Fodors '02 that expansion was underway @ time of publishing. Which building is best to stay in?? Anyone use jitneys and suggestions on using? I read on a recent hotel review site-mixed reviews about this place which is the case w/most hotels reviews. most everyone rated the service a 4 or 5 (out of 5) which for the bahamas is unbelieveable-i hope if feel the same way! anyone go down to love beach???
thanks for any and all suggestions/adivce!
jane

I just got back from a 5 day stay at the Breezes resort and had a blast. I went solo and was a little nervous about it but the people staying there were very friendly as was the staff. There is still construction going on but it didn't really bother me. The room was nothing fantastic but I spent very little time there. The food is average. I asked others staying there for the first time if they would go back and they said they would. I would too. I highly recommend it.

I stayed at Breezes twice. It is amazing. The staff is very helpful and polite. The food was great. Its located next to the crystal palace which has a huge casino if you want to get out at night. Breezes has a disco but they're wasn't many people in ther either time I stayed. The entertainment at night is good ends around 10:30-11:00. The beach and pool area is beautiful. The swim up was my favorite spot. Any more questions let me know.

My husband and I were married @ Breezes Nassau in May 1997. We returned to the bahamas in 1999 for our 2 year anniversary. Couldn't stay @ breezes because we had a 1 year old by then!!!! Breezes was AWESOME!!!! The service was excellent!!!! Our room was upgraded for us from oceanview to oceanfront because we had to wait a couple of extra hours. Well worth the wait!!!!!!!! The buffet was great everyday, The snack bar and swim-up bar were very convient and our wedding was the most stress-free day of my life!!!!! They took car of every little detail for us and everything was included in the package, unlike Sandals where you have to pay extra for every little detail. We got our cake, all necessary flowers, minister, champagne, toasting glasses, etc., The only thing that was a mild hassle was the fact that we had to sit in the Government building the day before, getting all of the necessary paperwork taken care of but that is no fault of the resort.. They had a circus clinic and I did the trapeze and the trampoline. Had a game of poolside trivia one day, was fun, beach was not too crowded.. Riding the bus was fun too, and cheap! For 50 cents, you can go anywhere on the island. When you want to get off at a non-scheduled stop, just yell "bus-stop" and they will stop where you want them too... It was great!!!!!! We truly loved this place.. We have traveled pretty extensively in the caribbean {Aruba,Bahamas,Cancun,Jamaica, St. Maarten} this place still stands as one of our favorites..... Go, and have a great time!!!!!!!!!

What kind of theme nights do they have? Native dance, limbo, beach party?

Do they serve any seafood?

Thanks.

When I stayed there they had a pajama party in the disco and they were having a toga party the day that I left. There were no beach parties. There is always something going on. The disco wasn't very crowded but it is fairly small.

I have a couple of questions. First, do they offer any internet/email access, either free or for a fee. I don't have a laptop so it would have to be their computer. I know there are some resorts doing this.

Also, how was the beach and water? Is the water very clear and can you walk out a ways before it gets deep? Is the beach kept clean?

Thanks.

I don't know about computer usage at all. You may have to ask a travel agent about that. The beach is beautiful. It is very clean and the water is crystal clear. I am not sure how far you can go before it gets too deep. I only went about knee deep. They have chairs that you can lay on so that is nice-you won't get so full of sand. I am sure you will enjoy it.
