blamona - advice for things to do in Turks and Caicos????

Hi Blamona or anybody - wanted to ask you your thoughts on things to do in turks and caicos for our Honeymoon?
We will be there Monday afternoon til Saturday afternoon in May, was wondering if you could give some insight on must do's/sees? I'm trying to come up with an itinerary of stuff to do in 5 days! :-)

Here's some things we really enjoy doing and am hoping I can at least do 80% of these :-)

Relaxing on the beach/Snorkeling
Spa/Massage
Jetski
Parasail
Rent Kayak
Scooter Rental??? Can you see the island by scooter?
Car Rental so we can drive around the island and I wanna see Chalk Sound and IGA store for groceries
Ferry to North Caicos/Middle Caicos?
Excursion - Caicos Dream Tour/Sunset Sail?
Casino
Some memorable restaurants for dinner, Hemmingways is definitely on the list
(I remember you suggested somewhere on here either Coco Bistro or Bay Bistro to call ahead and you can have a table setup in the sand????)

I know this sounds like a ton to do in 5 days that we are there but that's to give you some ideas of stuff we enjoy, do you have ideas on what days and when we should do what and where we should go? You are the best and always have the best advice! So thanks so much in advance!!!!

where are you staying? this will determine how easy to snorkel and kayak, and help with itenerary.

not enough time for what you want.

4 full days is not much time-definitely Caicos Dream Tours 1/2 day through the cays.

Bay Bistro did set up in the sand, but has now built a special table, not in the sand though. Anacaona might do it, but hugely expensive.

you can snorkel right off the beach in front of your hotel.
i like anacoana for romantic dinner - at least stop by for a drink at their infinity bar.

Look at Silver Deep for trips to North and West Caicos. We did the Middle Caicos tour, but I think it's not running anymore. However, it's still listed on their web-site.

One of the best trips we did was a 2 hour guided jet ski tour with Sun and Fun.

Sail Provo Full Day Snorkel with Lunch - Loved this tour. We had dolphins following our boat on the way back in.

We did a sunset cocktail sail on Reef Peepers. A glass bottom boat. We enjoyed it and saw a variety of fish and 2 sleeping nurse sharks.

If your interested, I wrote a very detailed trip report with restuarants and prices. We went in May, 2006.

Do you want to relax or do you want to be busy, busy, busy? The most fun we had was on a rainy day, standing out in waist deep water, all by ourselves, letting the porpoises swim between our legs. I'll never forget it.

TCI gets a bad wrap for not having enough to do. While one of the biggest appeals of the place is the fact that you can totally escape in seclusion and privacy if you want, there are still lots of things to to keep people of all ages and interests occupied. Is it like South Beach? No, but that's not why people come here. Check this list I found of 50+ fun things to do in Turks and Caicos:

My boyfriend and I wavered back and forth about the ferry to North/Middle Caicos. We are both super happy that we went. We toyed with the idea of doing a tour, but ultimately took the ferry and rented a jeep at the dock in North Caicos. The people on the island were very friendly. We veered off the one main road and a woman flagged us down to see if we needed directions! We stopped in a small luncheonette(My Dees) and because of my gluten allergy I couldn't eat anything on the menu. The woman went out of her way to make a dish I could eat! We saw some beautiful sites and felt completely welcomed by all of the locals that we met.
