Bimini?

I am looking for info on Bimini - how do we get there, where do we stay, what do we do when we get there? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Chalks airlines is the way to Bimini. They take off on the tarmac in Ft. Lauderdale, but in the water from Miami. Flight is about 20 minutes, and you land in the protected waters between North and South Bimini, then roar up across the King's Highway to the "terminal", a shed. You could stay at the Bimini Big Game Club. Keefes Undersea adventures will take you snorkeling or scuba diving. What are you expecting on your vacation? Bimini is pretty laid back. Robert

Robert is absolutely right. Bimini is VERY laid back. Not much to do there other than relax and of course all the water sports, snorkle/dive.

You of course should walk the "road" along Bimini, that Edgar Casey (noted psychic of the 30's, and his prophecy history has been amazing), said that is the road that leads to Atlantis. Interesting to speculate on it, and walking the road, well, let's just say 90degree angles don't happen in nature.

There are few nite spots, a few restaurants, not much shopping, a few straw stands, but the Bimini bread is legend. You can smell everyone baking bread in their homes in the morning, and it is sold in all the local grocery stores. Bimini bread is some of the best anywhere.

The settlement there is small, probably a couple of thousand people live on the island.

I was on Bimini with friends a few years ago, and we were on a boat docked at the Marina. I looked into the water and saw a 6 foot shark cruising between the boats, yikes!!

If you are looking for a very laid back vacation and some great snorkle/dive trips Bimini is perfect for that and the views from the restaurant up on the hill are breathtaking.

Have a great time.
