Best Quaint All Inclusive Resort

My husband are planning our 10 year anniversary trip this Fall to somewhere tropical! We are looking for an all inclusive that isn't "resorty." Meaning, something a little rustic, off the beaten path, and private. We love watersports (surf, fish, sail, snorkel) as well as hiking, zip lining, etc. We went to Jamaica and stayed at Couples Swept Away and absolutely LOVED it. SO, something similar to that in a different location would be ideal.
Thanks!

Forget the zip lining, but I think Palm Island in St. Vincent and the Grenadines would work for you.

I was coming to suggest Tensing Pen on the cliffs in Negril Jamaica.

But if you like the Couples-styled resort, it may be a bit toooo "rustic" for what you have in mind?

Galley Bay - Antigua

Coconut Bay - Antigua

Couples - Barbados

Rendezvous - St. Lucia

The Body Holiday LeSPORT - St. Lucia

Palm Island Resort - St. Vincent and the Grenadines

Secrets Aura Cozumel - Cozumel, MX

El Dorado Maroma - Playa del Carmen, MX

Royal Hideaway - Playa del Carmen, MX

What is your budget? All the ones mentioned, with the exception of the resorts in Mexico, will probably be way more expensive than what you spent on Couples in Jamaica.

If you give up the AI option, Costa Rica would fit your activities criteria. However, they are a few AI there, just none that are adult's only.

Fodors has got to get an edit/delete button. I did not mean to post that 3 times and then when it did I couldn't remove the duplicates. Uggh!

But is was good enough to merkin 3 times, better than not at all!

blamona Jun 4th, 2013 02:21 AM

my turn, merkin should be mention! How did iPad come up with that?

KVR Jun 4th, 2013 03:20 AM

We are going to have start a petition to get the Fodor's Mods to implement an edit/delete feature. :)

Thank you KVR!! Sorry, I am just responding. I will look into those. Our budget for a week is around $4000. Not including air.
