We loved El Gaucho which is located downtown. We went a few years ago and stayed at the Marriott hotel. It was a great trip!
I have seen El Gaucho mentioned so I guess it is still a fav out there.
We also liked Chalet Suisse. The marriott had Simply Fish which is on the beach. It is nice for sunset dining.
Go to aruba-bb.com for lots of info on Aruba. I used them for the info before our trip.
Have fun!

Our top 4:

Madame Janette
Gasparito
Marina Pirata
Brisas del Mar

Last 2 are a bit of a trip but well worth it.

best meal we had in aruba, was at "ruinas del mar." (sp?) it's the resterant in the hyatt. it was outstanding. and, btw had great cuban food at "cuba's cookin'" inexpensive, really good food, a couple of blocks behind the main strip by the port.

Forgot to mention Driftwood for seafood (downtown near Renaissance & shopping).

P.S. I just remembered our two favorite Italian places, Hostaria da'Vittorio (near Hyatt) and Sole Mare (Noord section). Both are close to where you're you're staying.

Chez Mathilde serves French food in an elegant setting with absolutely first-rate service. The prices are high -- you will pay $100 per person -- but the quality of the experience is better than any other restaurant on the island. It has a traditional and extremely European feel to it, is set in an older building, a block from the Rennaissance Hotel. The food is perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. At these prices, you expect no less, of course, but it's worth it.

El Gaucho and Driftwood for nice casual dining.

You have lots of dinner recommendations so I will recommend Le Dome for Sunday Brunch - $39pp, wonderful!

I was recently at the Ocean Club, my fav out of the 3 Marriott properties. I also recommend Simply Fish. Great food and great service, make sure you get a sunset reservation.
