Best place to buy liquor in St Maarten

Where is the best (cheapest) place to buy liquor for consumption while we are there?

depends what you want - the chinese groceries are a great place to start...but there are grocery stores - front street in Phillipsburg for duty free - you really can't go wrong!

Pretty much anywhere - on the DUTCH side of the island.

The ENTIRE island is completely duty free but, due to the fact that on the French side the currency is the Euro, the exchange rate to the US Dollar makes it considerably cheaper to shop on the Dutch side.

All the major supermarkets regularly have 'special offers' on various brands of alcohol, so shop around a bit, but even if it is not 'on sale', booze is still dirt cheap.

For example, earlier this week I bought a 1 liter bottle of Absolut vodka for $8, and a 1 liter bottle of Beefeater gin for $10 - but bottled water - in comparison - is expensive !
